Ministries

Our ministries are an important and integral part of our church community.

Whether you are a student, single or married there is a ministry designed for you.

Please read about our ministries and consider becoming an active member of our community of faith.

Liturgical Arts Ministry

If you would like to contact us about our Liturgical Arts Ministry, please contact June Bernardin.

Dance Ministry

Dance is a universal language. We bring ministry through dance so that everyone is able to visualize the praises of the lord. We are always looking for members who are willing to use movement for praise. If interested please contact Megan Gilmore.

Drama Department

The Drama ministry endeavors scriptures to life.  This involves all age groups in seasonal productions (Christmas, Easter, etc).  Our growing troupe uses music, dance, mime and other art forms to present stories of faith and Christian life.  If you are interested please contact Marjorie Woodroffe.

Music Department

Our music department brings an added dynamic to the worship service especially during the holiday seasons. They are currently seeking vocalists and musicians who are willing to be a part of Praise & Worship.  Please consider joining our ministry by contacting June Bernardin

Men's Ministry

Women's Ministry

Christ's First Presbyterian Church Women’s Ministry is open to every women of CFPC. This Ministry nurtures faith through prayer and Bible study, supports the mission of the church worldwide, and works for justice and peace. The ministry builds a caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.  Meetings are held every last Friday night at 7:00 p.m. For information about our ministry please contact June Bernardin.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry supports CFPC in worship, fellowship and scholarship. Our monthly meetings provide our young people the opportunity to fellowship, hear God's word and worship the Lord. Our young people volunteer as hosts of numerous events, fulfilling their desire to serve others in the love of Christ. We believe these opportunities teach the youth empathy and self esteem. Meetings are held the last Friday of every month at 7 pm. For more information please contact Isoken Irowa.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee gives scholarships to our youth ministry students every academic year to encourage them to learn and succeed. Members of the committee are:

June Bernardin - Head of Committee

Isoken Irowa

Doris White

Christian Education

Christian Education is currently led by Isoken Irowa. If you are interested in in any of the topics below, please email Isoken Irowa

Learning Modules

Understanding how to live out your Christian faith is crucial.

These four to six session trainings give concrete information and practical applications on topics as varied as witnessing, setting up a prayer time, estate planning, relationships, etc.

New members Orientation

Church membership is important for a growing Christian. Understanding the beliefs of a faith community helps to make an informed decision. CFPC provides a four session orientation for all who wish to join this church family.

Confirmation Classes

Teenagers often come to church because they are forced by their parents. Confirmation classes help them answer questions such as: Who is God? What does God expect from me? Why should I submit to Jesus? And what does it mean to be Christian?

Please contact us if you have any questions about our groups/ministries or would also like to volunteer for other opportunities to serve our community that are not listed here.
